Just a few things this time...

Big excitement! Gregory has his own bicycle with no training wheels. Here, he and Ray are coasting together down the hill so that Gregory can feel what it's like, and hopefully get a sense of what he needs to do when it's just him. He is doing SO WELL learning already! The first day he needed a parent's hand on the bike all the time. By the second day, he would ride 20-30 yards on his own before toppling over. He has always been physically coordinated, so we aren't at all surprised that learning to ride a bike is coming quickly to him.

We are trying to set up a secondary fish tank because Lily would really REALLY like to have a mommy guppy and baby guppies. They are not quite compatible with the other fish in our main tank, so we thought that we'd try to get a little tank set up and see about some guppies for Lily. When setting up a new tank, there are some phases it goes through, one of which is the massive nasty algae growth stage. We bought a little plecostomus (pleco), which is an algae-eating janitor-type fish. Henry has been extremely interested in that little pleco and spends a lot of time peering into the little tank and talking about it. The little pleco is doing a masterful job of cleaning things up in the tank, and when we get back from our Lake of the Ozarks vacation we should be able to buy a couple of guppies.

Does anyone remember when I posted a photo of that tomato plant in the pot on the deck railing? My, how it's grown! There are zillions of tiny tomatoes on it now, and we can hardly wait till they're ready to pick and eat! Also ... look at the strawberry-shaped hummingbird feeder. This morning, I was watering that tomato plant on the deck railing, and a hummingbird buzzed in to eat. I was standing 6 inches from the sassy little birdie, and it just kept on eating. It was aware of me and completely unconcerned!
